Frequently asked questions

DoseSignal is not sending reminders.

  • Open iOS Settings → Notifications → DoseSignal and turn on Allow Notifications, Sounds, Badges, and Lock Screen / Notification Center / Banners.
  • Check that Focus / Do Not Disturb is not silencing DoseSignal.
  • Confirm your schedule is set for the current time zone (Medication → the medication → Schedule).
  • If you are on Wi-Fi only and offline, some Care Partner alerts will queue until you reconnect.

My check-in photo will not match.

  • Make sure lighting is bright and even; avoid backlight.
  • Place the item inside the on-screen outline and hold still.
  • If the reference image was captured in different lighting, you can re-register a fresh reference in Medication → the medication → Reference photos.
  • You can still record a "basic check-in" without visual match if you are on the Free plan or if verification is unavailable.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → DoseSignal, or tap Manage Subscription on the paywall inside DoseSignal. Cancelling during the 14-day free trial means you will not be charged.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete account & all data. This permanently deletes your account, medications, check-ins, photos, and sharing history. It cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app, email privacy@dosesignal.app from the address on file and we will complete the deletion for you.

How do I invite a Care Partner?

Settings → Manage Care Partners → Invite. Share the invite link with the person you trust. They install DoseSignal (or sign in) and accept. You control what they can see (schedule, alerts, history) and you can revoke access at any time. Every sharing event is recorded in your Sharing History.

Is DoseSignal a medical device?

No. DoseSignal is a consumer reminder and check-in tool. It does not verify ingestion, diagnose anything, or replace medical care, and it is not an emergency service. Always follow the guidance of your doctor, pharmacist, or caregiver.

How does the visual match work?

Visual matching runs on-device using Apple Vision and Core ML. It compares your check-in photo to your own reference image. It does not identify medications from a global database, and a match is not proof the medication was swallowed or medically correct.
