Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and DoseSignal ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the DoseSignal app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) and able to form a binding contract. If you use DoseSignal on behalf of another person (for example, a family member you help), you confirm you have their permission to do so.

3. What DoseSignal is (and is not)

DoseSignal helps you schedule medication reminders, complete live photo-based check-ins, and optionally share status with a trusted Care Partner. DoseSignal is not:

• a medical device or clinical decision-support system;
• a diagnostic, treatment, or prescription-verification tool;
• a replacement for a doctor, pharmacist, nurse, or caregiver;
• an emergency, monitoring, or alarm service.

A successful visual match compares your check-in photo to your own registered reference image. It does not verify ingestion, does not confirm the medication is correct, and does not guarantee medical adherence.

4. Your account and data

• Keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Only add and share information you are permitted to add and share.
• Care Partners see only what you allow. You may revoke access to any partner at any time in the app.
• You may delete your account and all associated data from Settings.

5. Subscriptions and billing

DoseSignal offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions:

• DoseSignal Plus: $6.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
• Family Plan: $12.99 per month or $109.99 per year.
• Each includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically at the full price shown at purchase unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions. Core medication reminders are free and do not require a subscription. Prices may vary by country and are subject to change; changes will not affect a subscription already committed for the current period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use DoseSignal for anything unlawful or in violation of a third party's rights.
• Attempt to bypass the visual-match or camera-capture requirements, or otherwise manipulate check-in records.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the app's source, except as permitted by law.
• Upload malware or interfere with the service.
• Share the account with anyone whose data you are not authorized to hold.

7. Intellectual property

DoseSignal, its logo, and all software, text, and graphics are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to Apple's App Store Terms.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT REMINDERS OR NOTIFICATIONS WILL ALWAYS ARRIVE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN MEDICAL DECISIONS AND FOR CONFIRMING WITH A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR HEALTH OUTCOMES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

10. Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and DoseSignal only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or address any claims relating to the app. In the event of any conflict with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, that agreement controls with respect to your use on Apple devices. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using DoseSignal at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or use the app in a way that could harm us or other users. Termination does not refund unused paid time; refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app and reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, U.S.A., excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in this section affects mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence.
